Keyshia Cole
Keyshia Cole was born on October 15, 1981 in Oakland, California. Although she is a relatively new addition to the music industry, Cole has already had her fair share of success. Not only does Cole excel when it comes to singing, but she is also a masterful songwriter and record producer as well. She is best known for her smooth, soulful voice that has won over millions of fans.
In 2003 and 2004, Cole began to make her way into mainstream music. During this time period she made her first solo appearance with the song Get Up. The next year she teamed up with Eve to release the song Never from the soundtrack from Barbershop 2: Back in Business.
In June of 2005, Cole finally released her debut album, The Way It Is. Since then, the album has gone platinum and has produced singles including I Changed My Mind, I Just Want It To Be Over, Love, and I Should Have Cheated.
Two years later, Cole released her second album and to the surprise of many, it debuted at number two on the Billboard Chart. This album, Just Like You, sold approximately 280,000 albums in the first week alone. As of early 2008, album sales were approaching one million. Let It Go and Shoulda Let You Go are among the most popular singles on the album.
Cole has been nominated for many awards over the past couple of years. Most recently, she was nominated for two Grammy Awards including Best Rap Collaboration and Best Contemporary R&B Album.
Keyshia Cole has only been part of the music scene since 2004. But over this short period of time she has sold over one million albums, and has quickly shown the world that she has one of the best voices in the industry.
